Questions

Is the map really free?
Yes. Everything you need to know where fires are and what the fire services are saying is free, with no ads. Safety information is never behind a paywall. The paid plans cover things that cost us money per user: imagery licences, aircraft data and the servers behind team sharing.
Do team members each need a Supporter subscription?
No. Everyone in a team with an active Team plan gets every Supporter feature while they are in it. The team owner pays once for the team; members join free with the invite.
Can I cancel?
Any time. A cancelled plan keeps working to the end of the period you paid for. The free map stays free.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari, and you can add it to your home screen. On an iPhone, team sharing works while Firewatch is open; only the Android app can keep sharing with the screen off. To get SOS and team alerts on an iPhone, add Firewatch to your Home Screen (Share, then Add to Home Screen), open it from there and turn alerts on.
Who can see my location?
Nobody, unless you are in a team and turn sharing on. Then only the members of that team see it, and it switches itself off after your shift. See the privacy policy.
Is team sharing a safety-of-life system?
No. It helps a crew keep track of each other. It does not replace radios, agency systems or calling Triple Zero (000) in an emergency. An SOS alerts your team only; Firewatch never contacts emergency services for you, and the SOS screen puts Call 000 and your grid reference in front of you.

Hipponics Firewatch is independent and not a government service. In an emergency, follow the advice of your state fire service and call 000.
