Is there a fire in the Adelaide Hills today? This live map shows every current fire and warning from the SA Country Fire Service across the hills — Stirling, Aldgate, Lobethal, Woodside, Mount Barker and Hahndorf — alongside satellite hotspots and live conditions. The Adelaide Hills wrap densely vegetated ridges and gullies right up against South Australia’s capital, making the Mount Lofty Ranges one of the highest bushfire-risk areas in the state.
Open the live Adelaide Hills fire map →The Adelaide Hills have been hit hard in living memory. The Sampson Flat fire in January 2015 destroyed dozens of homes north-east of the city, and during the 2019–20 Black Summer the Cudlee Creek fire tore through Lobethal, Woodside and the surrounding hills, claiming a life and around 90 homes. Steep terrain, heavy stringybark fuels and towns woven through the bush mean fires escalate quickly on hot, windy days — the CFS advice on Catastrophic days is to leave the hills early. Hipponics Firewatch is a situational-awareness tool, not a replacement for official warnings.
