Is there a fire near me right now? Hipponics Firewatch shows every current bushfire and official warning in Australia on one live map, from all eight state and territory fire services, with satellite hotspots that can show a new fire before it is reported. It is free, and it is not an official emergency service.
Open the live map →Set a watch zone around your home, your family's place or where you are staying. One watch zone is free with a free account, and it sends a push notification when a fire or satellite hotspot appears inside it. Treat it as an early heads-up: official warnings come from your state fire service, and in a life-threatening emergency call 000.
Each state and territory fire service publishes its own incidents and warnings. Pick yours for a live map of that state and the agency whose data it shows:
For the biggest fires right now, see current major bushfires in Australia; for what the warning levels mean, see warning levels explained.
Hipponics Firewatch is independent and is not part of any fire service. The NSW RFS app called Fires Near Me, and each state's own app and website, remain the authority for warnings where you are. This map puts all of them side by side, which helps near a state border, when travelling, or when family live interstate.
