Fire Danger Ratings (FDR) tell you how dangerous a fire would be if one started today — and what to do about it. Hipponics Firewatch plots current ratings across the country next to active incidents, so you can see conditions and fires in one view.

Good to know
Ratings are derived from official weather data (ECMWF via Open-Meteo) using the national Fire Behaviour Index approach. On Catastrophic days, the safest option is to leave early — for the highest-risk areas, well before a fire starts.
Not an official emergency service. Hipponics Firewatch aggregates public data from official fire services and satellite feeds. Always follow directions from official emergency services and call 000 in a life-threatening emergency.
